Huddle House Ignites Southern Hospitality in Chicago
CHICAGO – Huddle up, Chicago: Huddle House is coming your way.
The iconic neighborhood gathering place known for its signature breakfast, Southern hospitality and delicious comfort food announced today it has signed an agreement with local entrepreneur Siraj “Sam” Elahi to open the first Huddle House restaurant in Chicago in Calumet Heights’ Pill Hill neighborhood.
“I am excited to bring Huddle House to the great city of Chicago,” said Elahi, a tenured entrepreneur with a track record of building successful businesses. “I know Calumet Heights residents will feel at home with Huddle House’s warm and welcoming atmosphere and will love our delicious Southern comfort food. I can’t wait to make an impact on the community.”
The Chicago location will be Huddle House’s first restaurant within Chicago city limits and the ninth in the state. The restaurant will be located in Pill Hill at 9401 South Stony Island Avenue, where local residents will be able to enjoy the hometown hub to satisfy their cravings. The restaurant will be part of the five-acre property that will also be home to the Montclare Senior Residence, a seven-story, mixed income independent living development.
“I want to be among the first to welcome the Huddle House restaurant to Chicago, and more importantly to the Eighth Ward,” said Alderman Michelle Harris. “As you know, a community cannot have too many dining options; Huddle House will provide a much-needed family dining option. I appreciate that although the owners had several locations from which to choose, they decided to call the Eighth Ward home for their first Chicago location.”
Based in Atlanta, Huddle House restaurants have earned adoration in their communities for their warm, friendly atmospheres where every conversation, sip of coffee and bite of home-cooked meals are savored. Known for its delicious breakfast, Southern hospitality and big portions at fair prices, Huddle House embeds itself into every community it serves by bringing friends and families together over delicious food, served from the heart.
“We are so excited to have Sam bring the Huddle House brand to Chicago,” said Christina Chambers, Senior Vice President of Franchise Development at Huddle House. “Sam truly embodies our service, spirit and focus on bringing friends and families together over delicious food, served from the heart.”
Following the opening of this restaurant, Elahi plans to open two additional restaurants in the greater Chicagoland area.
There are currently more than 390 Huddle House restaurants open or in development across the United States.
